Overall Jailbreak 2018 raised over £14,000 for our charities, beating the Jailbreak 2017 total! The winners of the most fundraised were team Bars and Stripes who raised over £1400they win a night out package at Bridge, with thanks to The Bridge Club, Oxford!

Well done and thanks to everyone who donated! Look out for more Oxford RAG events in Trinity-

On last year’s jailbreak, we had:

What is Jailbreak?

36 hours. 1 challenge: to get as far away from Oxford as possible without spending any money! Join us on the 17th and 18th February for one of RAG’s biggest events of the year and get involved in a unique and unforgettable challenge!

Why would you want to do that?

Even if you don’t feel imprisoned by the shackles of student life, there are plenty of reasons to take part!

As Richard Branson tweeted, Jailbreak is all about the “spirit of adventure”. You’ll get to travel in a completely new (and free) way, and who knows where you might end up. Everyone you meet will want to know what you’re doing and help you on your way. Jailbreak is a bit like a game of hide and seek, but the whole world is your playground!

Also, it’s for charity! Jailbreak 2015 raised almost £30,000 and Jailbreak 2016 raised over £30,000! You could make that happen. We will be running fundraising workshops to give you more ideas. Once you tell your friends and families about the mad adventure you’re going on, the sponsorship should come flooding in!

You might be Oxford’s most successful escapee! There are prizes up for grabs if your team raises the most money, gets the furthest or travels the furthest without flying.

How it Works

  • Find a team of 3 students
  • Sign up and register for online profiles (available in January for Jailbreak 2018)
  • Fundraise!
  • Escape from Oxford for 36 hours without spending any money. You might hitchhike, you might catch a ferry to Calais or you might persuade Richard Branson to fly you to Tokyo — the world is your oyster!
