Each year, RAG supports four charities: two local Oxfordshire charities and two national or international charities. These charities are chosen by the all-student RAG Charity Ballot, which takes place in Hilary Term. Any student can nominate a charity for the ballot.
Nominations are open for two weeks. From the nominations received, RAG create a shortlist of six local and six national or international charities. All students then vote on the shortlisted charities to elect two charities from each category. The winning charities will share RAG’s fundraising profits for the next academic year from when they are chosen.
Although our fundraising is split between our four student-elected charities, we can work with many different charities throughout the year. If you’re a representative of a charity who wants to work with us to raise money in Oxford, head over to the ‘Information for charities’ section. Ultimately, we want to support students who want to support charities.
